Why You Should Practice Yoga

I started practicing yoga in 2011 and it was one of the best decisions I made in my life. It started as an effort to be healthier and get back some of the flexibility I had as a kid (I did ballet). But gradually, it became so much more than just fitness, it became a crucial part of my lifestyle. So what are the benefits of yoga?

1. Happiness

If you look around, all your yogi friends are probably optimistic people. Yoga gives you a brighter outlook on life and it helps you find more clarity within your thoughts to resolve whatever issues you’re going through. Not to mention yoga gives you a great confidence booster because your body will start to look amazing!

2. Health

Yoga will help you get strong, toned, flexible and obtain a better posture. Consistently practicing will help you maintain a balanced metabolism and regulate your weight. It stretches muscles, which eliminates fat around the cells, which…. drum roll please… reduces cellulite! Stretching it out regularly also helps with those aches and pains from working a stressful 9-5.

3. Better Sleep

Yoga has been proven to give you better zzz’s. Practicing at least a few times a week and you won’t have to count sheep to doze off.

4. Hotter Sex

I’m sure you’ve heard this one. But it actually has nothing to do with being more flexible (it’s an added bonus though). Yoga actually helps boost your libido, lubrication and ability to achieve the big O. Great excuse to ask your boo to join you for a couples yoga session!

Best of all, yoga is for everyone. No matter who you are, you can find a suitable type of yoga to accommodate your needs. Namaste, my beautiful yogis!
